Studying and living on campus

We are very much looking forward to the beginning of the new academic year and welcoming you on to our campuses.

Staying safe is a team effort and, after the many challenges we have all faced over the last few months, we need to work together to avoid jeopardising this academic year and everything it has to offer.

It is important that you read and take note of the information contained on this website and watch the video featuring our Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Rachel Thomson and Students' Union Education Executive Officer Ana-Maria Bilciu.

We've put together Seven Golden Rules that we're asking all students to adhere to on and off-campus along with guidance on living in halls, safety measures on campus, social activities and looking after yourself and others.

New Government Restrictions

New national restrictions will be in place across the whole of England from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December. Find out what the new restrictions mean for Loughborough students and what we’re doing to help you.

What if I have symptoms of Covid-19

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, you should self-isolate in line with the NHS guidance. Your housemates will also need to self-isolate too as outlined by the NHS.

The main symptoms of Covid-19 are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

If you have any of the main symptoms, you should get a test to confirm whether you have Covid-19 and inform the University through Connect and Protect.

NHS Test and Trace app

Test and Trace is a national app that is helping the NHS to understand where and how quickly the Covid-19 virus is spreading, so that it can respond quickly and effectively.

The app allows you to report symptoms and order a Covid-19 test.

It also helps to trace app users who have spent time near other app users who later test positive for Covid-19.

Some venues in England – including pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes – are now legally required to record who is visiting there to support the test and trace effort. These venues will all display a QR code, which allows anyone who has the Test and Trace app to easily register their visit. Test and Trace QR codes are located in relevant buildings on campus.

To download the app, search for NHSCOVID-19 in the App Store or Google Play Store.
