Hannah Bashford
Chair of Korfball and Physiology Placement Student
Hannah is in the second year of her MSc in Physiology and Nutrition at Loughborough after completing her undergraduate degree at Birmingham. Since coming to Loughborough she became the founder of the Korfball club, which is now a part of the Athletic Union. Alongside this she has been undertaking a part time physiology placement, working with the triathlon club and commercial services

Olivia has had a vast range of experience in volunteering through the CVA, from starting as an assistant athletics coach to securing a performance analysis placement with Loughborough Hockey, she has made the most of the opportunities the CVA has to offer.

Karolina is a Sport and Exercise Science student from London. She first started volunteering through becoming Club Chair of Taekwondo, where she also gained her Emergency First Aid qualification. More recently she became a Physiology Placement student, working with Loughborough Lightning Cycling Performance Programme.

Alex Bakker-Noguer
Performance Analyst
After changing degrees from Product Design Engineering to Sport and Exercise Science, Alex stepped out his comfort zone and began exploring all the different opportunities through the Coach & Volunteer Academy. After initially getting involved in swimming and athletics coaching, Alex's determination and initiative led him to a variety of Performance Analyst roles with Rugby and the Boxing Centre of Excellence!

Physiologist (postgraduate voluntary placement)
Through her Undergraduate Placement with Loughborough Sport's Physiology Team and now in her current role as a postgraduate volunteer, Molly has immersed herself in the performance environment on campus developing not only her technical skills, but also the softer skills that are key to being an effective practitioner.

Connor Andrews
Performance Coach & Football Sports Scientist
Connor has clocked up over 1500 hours on the Coach and Volunteering Academy portal for his responsibilities with Loughborough Sport over the last 5 years. This has included working with the Loughborough 2's and 3's Women's football team as a Sport Scientist and performance coach as well as being the head coach of the AU Swimming Squad and assistant coach to the performance squads.

Joining Loughborough for her MSc Sport & Exercise Psychology in 2018-19, Nainika brought the same enthusiasm for sport at home in India to Loughborough, throwing herself into a variety of opportunities.

Adrian van der Ploeg
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Whilst studying Sports Science with Management at Loughborough, Adrian volunteered as both a Rugby Coach and an S&C Coach with the Men's Basketball Programme. Using these experiences, and the valuble experience of a placement with Locker 27 in Addlestone, Adrian has landed himself a job as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Loughborough Sport!

Eddy Fuller
Athletic Development Coach, Royal Grammar School High Wycombe
Whilst studying Sports and Exercise Science at Loughborough, Eddy got involved in a range of voluntary roles and undertook a placement with Loughborough Sport where he supported a number of performance programmes including Lightning Rugby, and Swimming. Eddy continued his journey within S&C into his final year as the lead S&C coach for BUCS Women's Rugby 1&2s, as well as an assistant S&C role at Leicester Tigers Academy.

Jonathan Galbrith
Head of Strength & Conditioning, St Dunstans College
Whilst studying MSc Strength and Conditioning at Loughborough Johnathan volunteered as a Strength & Conditioning Coach with Loughborough Althetics, giving him the opportunity to shadow other coaches and learn from their experience. Since graduated Johnathan has gone onto to become the Head of Strength & Conditioing at St Dunstans College.

Neill Kelly
Telford Sport Sec, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Rugby Super Series Coach (Shiver)
Neill has supported sport at Loughborough across a variety of strands including volunteering as a Telford Sport Sec, coaching Shiver in the Rugby Super Series and as a S&C coach with Loughborough Students Rugby Development Squad. In recognition of his contribution Neill was awarded the CVA Unsung Hero Award at the 2020 Coach & Volunteer Academy Awards.

Andrew McBay
Performance Analyst for Loughborough Students RFC
Andy has played a massive part in developing a really effective learning/review environment for rugby players at Loughborough. Working close to 100 games for the men's programme, Andy has built up both his experience and relationships with coaches and other staff leading to him acquiring a summer placement working for Hawk-Eye Innovations at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Daniel Rix
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Daniel has supported a variety of teams on campus since undertaking a Strength and Conditioning placement as Loughborough Sport including both the Men's and Women's Rugby performance programmes as well as the Loughborough Cycling Academy. Continuing his role throughout final year and his Masters degree Daniel has also gotten involved in supporting England Rugby as a result of his work with the Lightning Rugby franchise.

Performance Analyst and Strength & Conditioning Coach with Lightning Netball Superleague and Pathway Academy
Masters student, Anne Sharpe, has given so much in her roles within performance support here at Loughborough. Starting off as performance analyst with Loughborough Lightning Netball in first year, Anne has also gotten involved in Strength and Conditioning Support for Loughborough Lightning after completing an S&C placement with the ECB.
