Athletic Union Club

Loughborough University Lacrosse club is currently ranked 12th in the UK University sports leagues (BUCS). The men’s and women’s teams both take part in BUCS, playing on Wednesday afternoons, and the mixed team play on Sundays. The University currently has 3 men’s and 4 women’s teams competing in BUCS leagues with a number of players competing at an international level, along with a large beginner programme for those who are new to the sport. Our First Team players receive expert coaching, individual and team video analysis, access to world class facilities, strength and conditioning training as well as physiotherapy, performance nutrition and sport science support.

Women’s 1st Team Coach: Heather Macrae - currently the Joint Head Coach of the U19 Scotland National Team and plays for the Scottish National Women’s Team.

Men’s 1st Team Coach: Matt Nadin - 8 years of lacrosse experience behind him; most recently playing with the Welsh National Squad in 2021 and now coaching the English Universities’ Team in 2022.

Training Frequency

Up to 4 times per week on EHB Sportsturf

  • Tomos Rosser - Represented Wales at: European Championships 2016, World Championships 2016. Represented Great Britain at: Euros 6s, 2022.

The men’s and women’s teams both take part in BUCS, playing on Wednesday afternoons, and the mixed team play on Sundays. The men’s section at Loughborough has expanded over recent years to comprise of two BUCS teams and a large beginner's programme. The women have three BUCS teams and a beginner's team, with each team having their own specific training programme planned by coaches, captains and the club committee.
