Archery
Archery at Loughborough caters for all abilities, from complete beginners to international level. All equipment is provided to get you started and you'll have the opportunity to learn from our high level coaches.
Athletic Union Club
Archery is done both outdoors and indoors and membership is open to everyone enrolled at the University and Loughborough College. We encourage you to shoot in competitions and we compete regularly in a local league of eight universities as well as the indoor and outdoor BUCS Championships each year. Our team also takes part in the British University Team Championships.
Currently, we have 80 experienced and novice archers and we encourage everyone to join. There are usually four indoor training sessions available per week from October to the Easter break. The outdoor season then starts after Easter and sessions are held throughout the week. Attendance at all sessions is not compulsory.
All new members need to complete our Beginner's Course which runs for three weeks, with six lessons in total. We require you to attend all six lessons to learn the required techniques and develop your skills. You'll have the chance to try different bow styles and participate in a practice competition. Plus, our coaches will be on hand throughout to welcome and assist you.
