Volleyball at Loughborough offers an extensive programme giving you the chance to maximise your development or just have fun. Whether you are at the top of your game or want to play recreationally everyone is welcome!
Athletic Union Club
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net on a court. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under extensive organised rules. Volleyball has been a part of Summer Olympic programme since 1964.
Our teams compete at four league levels, University, National, Regional and Local, excelling in all of them. We have had a lot of success at the National Shield, at BUCS and have also had members represent at the European Universities Volleyball Championships. Many of the students joining the club and alumni have represented their country in international competition as well. At National level, both our men’s and women’s teams compete in the second division and battle for promotion into division one.
Hall Sport (IMS)
We encourage you to compete in volleyball for your halls of residence in IMS competitions held throughout the year. You compete in mixed teams against other halls, and these competitions are always great fun.
Volleyball is also available through the My Lifestyle initiative, where you can give the sport a go and have loads of fun at the same time.
Don't forget, we have our own Beach Park on campus where you can play beach volleyball!
Coaching and volunteering
