Cheerleading

Loughborough Students' Cheerleading Club is made up of two competitive squads alongside a development team for beginners looking to get involved in the sport. We are currently the reigning National Champions and Grand Champions and were also named 'Club of the Year 2018'.

Athletic Union Club

Number of teams

Two competitive teams which are at Level 3 and Level 2, and the All Girl Level 3 team competes against All-Star teams and University teams. Additional development squad.

Our different teams give the opportunity for all students of all abilities to be a part of the club, as we provide them with skills that will make them better all-around athletes as well as better cheerleaders.

Training Frequency

4 times per week across the 3 squads and in the Gymnastics Centre 2 times per week.

Competing squads train once a month in Nottingham EMCA Cheer Gym.

We also get involved in performing for crowds at matches, such as the matches on 'D-Day' and for other Loughborough Athletic Union clubs. We like to think that our club challenges the stereotypical view of cheerleading with our intense training and commitment.

Full commitment from our members is essential as we aim to be the best at competitive cheerleading and we usually compete in two national competitions per year. We have been National Champions in All-Girl Level 4 Cheer multiple times and are currently one of the best University squads in the country.
