Tell us a little about yourself (E.g. hobbies, interests and background)?
I am currently studying Sports Psychology. I was an athlete before coming to university, but had an interest in coaching.

How did you first get involved in volunteering within sport at Loughborough?
When I first started university, I found the athletics stall at the sports complex, and they told me to come down to the track on the meet-the-coaches day. From there, they provided me with opportunities to enhance my qualifications.

During your years at Loughborough, what have you got involved in through volunteering within sport?
I have volunteered as an athletics coach as well as helping out at BUCS Big Wednesday. I also completed the female leadership programme in my second year which was amazing.

What has your experience volunteering been like whilst at Loughborough?
There is a wealth of support and numerous opportunities to volunteer at Loughborough. Often, as a volunteer coach, you can feel like a forgotten piece; however, with Loughborough, you feel welcomed and encouraged.

How has being involved with Loughborough Sport helped you develop and progress (personally and professionally)?
It has led me to complete many qualifications, including becoming a Level 2 Athletics Coach.

What’s the best advice you could give to a Loughborough student looking to get involved in volunteering & gain the most out of their university experiences?
Say yes to all the opportunities you are offered! Even if you don’t know anyone else doing it you will meet people and gain such valuable experience.

Finally, what do you enjoy most about volunteering?
Meeting new people and gaining more sporting experiences.
