Men's Programme

BUCS Coaches

Loughborough Rugby are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist and lead in the coaching of our non-performance BUCS rugby across the men’s programmes for the 19/20 season.

We would be looking for coaches who:

  • Have previous experience in playing or coaching within the game
  • Are enthusiastic about supporting and challenging a talented group of players.
  • A level 2 coaching qualification is also preferable for however would not be compulsory.

There is no direct minimum requirements, however attendance at matches on a Wednesday and training sessions on a Monday & Thursday are central to the roles.

BUCS Team Manager

Team Managers

Role Purpose: To assist/lead the match day management of one of the Men’s rugby BUCs 2-4 teams. Working closely alongside the Head Coach to help manage the game day process, travel and equipment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • In line with the head coach assist with player communication around availability and match day logistics.
  • Liaise with and greet referees on game day directing them to changing rooms and agree timings.
  • Liaise and greet away teams and explain location of changing rooms, pitch etc.
  • Liaise with bus driver around travel logistics when playing away from home
  • Responsible for the collection and return of equipment on game day (match shirts, balls, cones, first aid kit and tackle bags)
  • Lead on completion of match day paperwork and return to programme manager.
  • Responsible for all timings in the lead up to KO.
  • Assist with the changing room setup and manage players leaving facility to the standard expected of Loughborough Students Rugby Club.

Requirements for the role

  • Available for the majority of Wednesdays across the BUCs calendar (October- Dec, Feb- Mar) and willing to travel away with teams
  • Confident and ability to speak to large groups of people.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and would consider themselves a good timekeeper.
  • Proactive and understand when other might need assistance.
  • Highly organised and can prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of Rugby Union would be preferable but not essential

Women's Programme
