Hamer and Fitzpatrick both competed at last summer’s Tokyo Paralympic Games and are holders of World and European silver medals following an impressive international career to date.
The pair's arrival in Loughborough completes Lightning Head Coach George Bates’ squad for the inaugural Women’s Premier League which begins in January 2022.

Hamer, who is also a former Chemistry student at the University, said:

The first season of Wheelchair Basketball’s Women’s Premier League will take place from January 2022 - May 2022.
