Guest appointed as new Lightning Cricket Head Coach

Chris Guest

Loughborough Sport is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Guest as the new Head Coach of Lightning Cricket.

Guest moves from his current position of Senior Regional Talent Manager with the club and will look to build on the strong foundations laid by his predecessor, Rob Taylor.

Guest, a former professional cricketer with Worcestershire Cricket Club, boasts an impressive CV having worked with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as Regional Talent Manager, Derbyshire County Cricket Club as Coaching Assistant, and Staffordshire Cricket as Lead Performance and Pathway Coach.

“I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to lead Lightning Cricket and follow on from a great person in Rob Taylor,” Guest told Loughborough Sport.

“This position is something I have worked hard for over a number of years, and I will be looking to put my own stamp on things to help the team move forward.

“My coaching philosophy centres around building environments where players are comfortable pushing their limits in order to grow and this is what I will be looking to achieve here.

“I’m really excited to see how we can all develop as staff, players and people over the next few months in the lead up to the new season.”

Ian Read, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket for the East Midlands at Loughborough University, added:

“After a very competitive process, we are delighted to appoint Chris as Lightning’s new Head Coach.

“Chris’s experience in cricket is wide-ranging with his drive, commitment and energy for the sport undoubtedly set to stand us in good stead for the upcoming season.

“He’s familiar with the Lightning environment and our values as an organisation and we wish him and the team the very best.”
