The team of four students will drive the club forward helping increase awareness and participation within the sport as well as to develop future competition opportunities for club members.
The panel has been finalised as follows:
- Josh Longworth - Chairperson
- Joshua Bain - Vice-Chairperson
- Adedayo Dada – Club Development Co-ordinator
- Jason Rolph – Welfare Representative
On the appointments, Lauren Durkan, Athletic Union President, Loughborough Students’ Union, said:
“It’s so great to see such a diverse group of passionate and experienced students take on this exciting opportunity within Loughborough Sport. I have no doubt that they will drive forward this new club. I can’t wait to see what they will achieve.”
Josh Longworth added:
“We can't wait to see you all in the new academic year to begin with the new AU Wheelchair Basketball Club.
“We are looking forward to getting as many people playing as we can, and we have lots of ideas we're keen to implement. If you are wanting to get involved, keep an eye out for us at the beginning of the year and we'll point you towards taster sessions.”
This announcement comes as part of Loughborough’s Para sport strategy and a commitment to provide inclusive sport opportunities for all.
