Professor Vicky Tolfrey, Director of the Peter Harrison Centre for Disability Sport, met with Lee Myung Ho, the president of the Korea Paralympic Committee and Jung Jin Owan, the head of KPC Icheon Training Centre, to discuss the partnership which aims to develop and share knowledge between the two institutions.
The collaboration will also provide opportunities for staff, students and athletes to visit both Loughborough and KPC’s facilities as well as take part in educational programmes focused on Para sports science.
Professor Tolfrey explained:
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding signifies the start of a journey. We wish to share expertise for the benefit of the Paralympic movement, whereby Loughborough academics and students are able to enjoy the outstanding facilities offered by the Korean Paralympic Committee through mutual research and knowledge exchanges.”
Plans have also been agreed for joint academic journals and seminars to showcase future research.
