Sports Hall
Our sports halls provide flexible spaces for a wide range of sports, activities and events, from social participation to international televised competition.
We have two main sports halls, located at opposite ends of campus. Both are multi-purpose, available for hire by students, staff and the local community for recreational activity, tournaments and training camps.
The Sir David Wallace Sports Hall (SDW) is our largest indoor multi-sport venue and a highly adaptable events space. It serves as a key training and competition venue for Athletic Union clubs and supports a wide range of sports, including basketball, badminton, futsal, handball, indoor hockey, netball, trampolining and volleyball. The facility features a semi-sprung Junkers floor, competition-standard lighting, spectator seating for up to 1,500, with additional floor seating available, a multi-sport scoreboard, changing facilities and two fitness studios on the first floor.
New Victory Hall is located on the west side of campus, within the Holywell Sports Complex. Named after the ‘Victory Hall’ – one of the University's original buildings, the facility provides a flexible four-court sports hall that supports a range of recreational sport, student clubs, societies and performance training. It is suitable for a variety of sports, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball and five-a-side football.
