High Performance Athletics Centre

Home to the British Athletics National Performance Institute and Loughborough Students Athletics club, the Athletics Centre includes the Seb Coe High Performance Athletics Centre, Paula Radcliffe Athletics Track and Steve Backley National Throws Centre.

The Loughborough Athletics Centre, commonly known as HiPAC, comprises both an indoor athletics centre and outdoor athletics track and field.

The indoor Seb Coe High Performance Athletics Centre was designed to support all athletic disciplines. Spanning two floors, it features 8-lane, 130m indoor rack, international standard jumps facilities, indoor throws area, and an onsite strength and conditioning facility. The centre has also recently been fitted with integrated force plates beneath one lane of the indoor track. The first installation of its kind in Europe, this technology gives coaches and athletes scientific data to help inform performance and support continual improvement.

Outside, the Paula Radcliffe Athletics track and Steve Backley National Throws Centre provide world class training and competition facilities. The 400m, 8-lane track surrounds a dedicated throws area and has been designed to support day-to-day training and major events including the annual Loughborough International Athletics meet.
