Cricket Centre

Loughborough University’s Cricket Centre is home to the National Cricket Performance Centre for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The centre comprises a world class indoor training centre and two first class standard pitches.

Sir John Ferguson National Cricket Performance Centre

The National Cricket Performance Centre primarily accommodates ECB training and preparation for their elite teams, in addition to training for Loughborough MCCU, Loughborough Lightning Cricket and a number of local clubs.

The facility is available for hire to clubs and private hire

The centre comprises:

  • 6 indoor artificial wickets, with a range of speeds
  • Fielding area
  • Climatic control to simulate a range of conditions
  • Bowling machines
  • Performance Analysis suite include Hawk Eye capability
  • Conditioning and recovery facilities

Haslegrave Cricket Pitch

First class cricket ground, located immediately adjacent to the indoor centre.  The pitch is home to our Loughborough MCCU and Loughborough Lightning KSL home games.

The facility utilises changing and function space in the National Cricket Performance Centre and separate Haslegrave Pavilion.

Brockington Cricket Pitch

Brockington cricket pitch is located in the heart on the University campus. Matches on this pitch utilise the Graham Dilley Cricket Pavilion for changing rooms and scoring. 

Additional Cricket Facilities

On campus there is also:

  • ECB Nets - 8 grass training wickets
  • Brockington Nets – 3 artificial wickets
  • Holywell Pitch - a recreational cricket pitch with artificial wicket
