Arber, who wears the number 9 shirt for Lightning Football, has been in excellent form throughout the domestic season and now prepares to represent Great Britain on the international stage.
After a serious shoulder injury in February, Jade has worked hard to bounce back and put herself in contention for selection. This marks Arber’s second consecutive selection for a European Championship, having also been part of the GB squad at the 2022 edition in Norway.
To secure their place at the 2025 Euros, Team GB faced Hungary in a tense qualifying match in January. The closely fought encounter went to a dramatic penalty shootout, where GB came out on top to book their spot at the tournament.
The upcoming European Championships will feature some of the strongest police football teams across the continent, including the host nation, Germany, Ireland, Norway, France, and others.
Eighteen players were selected for the final squad, following a highly competitive selection process. Over the past year, over 80 players from across the UK, including Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland, participated in multiple trial camps.
The 2025 tournament will test the resilience and depth of every squad. Teams could play up to five matches in just seven days, a demanding schedule made even more challenging by the expected warm summer conditions in Germany.
Arber’s selection is a testament to her talent and dedication on the pitch and her ability to balance a high-level football career with her service in the police force.
As Team GB Police prepares for a challenging campaign in Lohne, everyone at Loughborough Lightning wishes her and the squad the best for the tournament.
