Jan’s connection to futsal began at Grimsby Town Foundation, where he combined his studies with a successful playing career in the EFL’s Futsal Games. His passion for the sport brought him to Loughborough in 2018 to study Applied Sports Science, where he also trained with the International Futsal Academy and became a key player for Loughborough Students Futsal. During his time as a student, Jan celebrated two BUCS titles, coached development squads, and played a pivotal role in the growth of the Women’s Futsal programme — leading the teams from the sidelines and helping to nurture a strong culture of excellence and progression within the women’s game at Loughborough.
After graduating, Jan took on coaching responsibilities with LSFC before moving to Manchester Futsal Club, where he made an immediate impact both on and off the court. He was part of the squad that secured Champions League qualification in 2023/24 and contributed to Manchester’s youth system as a Pre-Academy Specialist.
Now returning to Loughborough, Jan combines top-level playing experience with a passion for developing players and teams. His coaching journey — spanning men’s and women’s futsal, from youth through to performance level — reflects his ability to inspire, mentor and bring the best out of those he works with. His appointment is set to create an environment where players can thrive and continue to push the boundaries of the game at Loughborough Students and the International Futsal Academy.
Richard Allen, Director of Football adds:-
“Jan’s appointment is an exciting step for our futsal programme. He knows first-hand what it means to be part of the Loughborough environment and has already shown his ability to coach successfully across both the men’s and women’s game. With his experience at national and European level, Jan is well-placed to drive the programme forward and help us continue to develop players and teams who can perform at the very highest level.”
“At Loughborough Futsal and the IFA we are not only committed to developing players but also developing the next generation of futsal coaches in the UK too. So we are therefore absolutely delighted that Jan, one of our graduates, will now be helping to shape the players and coaches of the future in his new role as Head Coach”, added Sam Skubala from the IFA.
