Loughborough athletes selected for 2023 IWBF European Championships

Loughborough University will be well represented at this month’s 2023 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) European Championships after a large contingent of Lightning players have been selected by their respective nations.

GB Women’s squad features six Loughborough Lightning players as Maddie Martin, Siobhan Fitzpatrick, Lucy Robinson, Robyn Love, Laurie Williams, and Ana Blease (who is making her debut at a major tournament) have all been called up for the tournament.

Also from Loughborough Lightning is Paralympic Games wheelchair basketball champion Bo Kramer, who will be playing for The Netherlands.

The competition will take place between 11-19 August in Rotterdam, constituting an important milestone in the lead-up to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
