Meet The Coaches

Our team of run coaches are ready to work with all athletes, from those looking to run their 10th marathon, to those new to running.

Dan

Dan is a performance physiologist working with the Loughborough Triathlon Performance Centre. He helps athletes get the most out of their training through profiling, monitoring, and environmental preparation. He also supports a wide range of endurance athletes through Loughborough Sport’s Commercial Physiology Services.
He’s currently studying for an MSc in Physiology and Nutrition at Loughborough University. His research with the Elite Trail Team looks at how carrying a race pack affects endurance running, helping to shape training that reflects real-world racing. Dan also holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Swansea University, where he worked with the Swim Wales National Squad.
Dan’s all about practical, evidence-based support. He uses data to guide training decisions and works closely with athletes to help them progress with purpose.

Lois

Lois is a performance physiologist and athletics coach based at Loughborough Sport. She supports athletes through a mix of scientific insight and hands-on coaching, helping them train smarter and perform better. She holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and is currently completing an MSc in Physiology and Nutrition.
Lois has coached endurance athletes across athletics, triathlon, cycling, and ultra-running. She’s worked with everyone from university athletes to experienced ultramarathoners, always with a personalised, data-informed approach that puts athlete wellbeing first.
She currently supports the Loughborough Performance Cycling Academy and is involved in applied sport science research, keeping her coaching up to date with the latest thinking. Lois is passionate about helping athletes train with purpose, race with confidence, and enjoy the process.

Meg

Meg is a performance physiologist, endurance coach, and PhD researcher at Loughborough University. Her research focuses on how the menstrual cycle affects cycling performance, helping to improve understanding and support for female athletes.
She has over five years of experience working with endurance and ultra-endurance athletes in running, cycling, and triathlon. Meg blends academic knowledge with real-world coaching to create training plans that are both evidence-based and athlete-focused.
Her coaching style is collaborative and flexible. She works closely with each athlete to build a plan that fits their goals, physiology, and lifestyle, supporting long-term progress and enjoyment.

Freya

Freya is a performance physiologist and experienced endurance runner. She’s represented England multiple times and knows first-hand what it takes to train and compete at a high level.
She has a first-class degree in Sport, Exercise and Health Science, where her research focused on how interval training can be adapted to boost performance while managing fatigue. She’s spent the last three years supporting athletes of all ages and abilities through testing, profiling, and education.
Freya currently works with the Loughborough Triathlon Performance Centre and is studying for a Master’s in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. She’s passionate about helping athletes enjoy their training, stay consistent, and make meaningful progress.
