Ways you can play

Performance
Loughborough's Men’s Performance Football programme offers a proven pathway for ambitious players, providing elite sporting development that combines with academic success.

Athletic Union (AU)
The AU football club at Loughborough University is well-established, with six teams competing in the top tiers of BUCS University Football. Players train 2-3 times a week with club and guest coaches on multiple artificial grass facilities. The Men's AU teams participate in BUCS league games and knockout competitions, as well as friendly matches against internal and external teams.
Home fixtures are held on performance pitches at Holywell Sports Complex, with key games taking place at the Loughborough University Stadium pitch, which can accommodate up to 3500 spectators.

Hall Sport
The Men’s Football Hall Sport programme is the perfect way to represent your hall, enjoy competitive matches, and connect with fellow students.
With both an A League for graded competition and a B League for more social play, there’s a place for all abilities - though university football and futsal players are not eligible.
Matches are played at top-quality venues including the PEC Rubber Crumb, Holywell, and College pitches, with a fast-paced 35-minute halves format. Gather your squad, pull on your shin pads, and get ready to chase hall glory this season.

Social Sport
The Mixed Football League is a fun, casual 6-a-side competition open to all abilities. It’s the perfect way to play regularly with friends, course mates, or society members while meeting new people and staying active.
Weekly games are played on local rubbercrumb pitches, with 35 minutes of fast-paced football and all matches refereed.
Teams can have up to 10 players, with rolling subs and flexible line-ups to keep things fresh. With simple rules, a friendly atmosphere, and league points up for grabs, it’s football without the pressure.

Recreational Sport
For those looking to participate in sport on a more casual basis, there’s lots to choose from.
