The Loughborough Cycling Academy provides a performance-focused pathway for talented cyclists. Performance athletes also have the chance to represent Loughborough Lightning in national and international competitions, benefiting from an athlete-centred environment and access to specialist support.
Para-cycling is fully integrated within the Loughborough environment, offering tailored support depending on classification and performance level, ensuring all athletes can train and compete effectively.
For recreational and competitive riders alike, the Loughborough Students’ Cycling Club welcomes everyone to train, compete, and enjoy cycling socially.

Performance
Loughborough Cycling Academy provides talented cyclists with the coaching, facilities, and support to combine elite training with academic study.
Using a performance-led, athlete-centred approach, each rider benefits from an interdisciplinary support team and a collaborative campus environment, helping them develop their skills, reach their potential, and prepare for competitive or professional cycling.

Athletic Union (AU)
Loughborough Students' Cycling Club welcomes riders of all abilities, from elite cyclists to complete beginners, across disciplines including road, track, and mountain biking.
Members compete individually in a variety of BUCS events such as downhill mountain biking, time trials, hill climbs, and team time trials.
The club fosters a supportive environment where all members can develop their skills, enjoy cycling socially, and pursue competitive opportunities throughout the year.
