What is social sport?
Social Sport is perfect for students who want to play sports with friends, meet new people, and enjoy a commitment-free sports experience. The leagues let you choose your level of competition, making it a great way to stay active while taking a break from academic demands.
You can join leagues as a group of friends, a department, or even a society. While the competitions, across badminton, football, netball, and tennis, can be competitive, they’re also more relaxed than playing for your hall or AU team.
Social Sport also includes one-day events in niche sports, giving you a fantastic chance to try something new.
Leagues run during Terms 1 and 2, with one-day events taking place throughout the year, so there’s always something to get involved in.
How to get involved
You can join Social Sport leagues at the start of Terms 1 and 2 via the Lboro Sport app. Places are limited, and teams are asked to pay a fee to sign up to a league.
One-day events run all year round, and sign-ups open a few weeks before each event. For the latest updates on dates, sports, and how to join, check out Lboro Social Sport on Instagram.
