Loughborough Lightning vs Leicester Tigers

Loughborough Lightning will face Leicester Tigers in a highly anticipated East Midlands Derby at Loughborough University on Saturday 17 October, with kick-off at 2pm.

And Loughborough University and Loughborough College students can watch the action for just £1!

The clash will be Lightning’s fourth and final pool-stage fixture in the JAECOO Next Gen Cup, with the knockout stages of the competition following shortly afterwards.

There’s plenty of history between these two sides, with Lightning currently on a five-game winning streak against Tigers. Their recent encounters have been high-scoring affairs, averaging more than 70 points per game, including last season’s thrilling 36-50 victory for Lightning in the final match of the 2025/26 PWR season.

The fixture will also mark Lightning’s return to Loughborough University’s 4G pitch, where last season’s Cup matches were staged. It will be the first time the two sides have gone head-to-head at the University venue, making it a must-see fixture for rugby fans on campus and across the local area.

Admission is free for 2026/27 Lightning Season Ticket Holders.

All tickets are standing tickets and are non-transferable and non-refundable.

A valid eligibility ID is required for student and concession tickets and may be requested at the door.
