Car Park closures - Saturday 14 June 2025, 8-10am
Please note car park closures will be in place from The Design school barrier via Tennis and the Netball centre due to a large event between 8-10am on Saturday 14 June 2025.
The Hambo Throwdown fitness competition for wheelchair users, organised by the Matt Hampson Foundation, returns for 2025 in a new home at Loughborough University.
The Foundation organised the inaugural Throwdown in 2024 as the first adaptive fitness event exclusively for wheelchair users and welcomed more than 25 entrants for a full day of competition.
Now the Foundation is putting together plans to make the event even bigger and better for its second year with the event scheduled for Saturday 14 June.
This Hambo Throwdown provides an opportunity to try a fitness competition for the first time or for more experienced entrants to test themselves against some of the best wheelchair athletes in the country.
This year the event moves to Loughborough University’s Powerbase gym, presenting all participants with a chance to compete in one of the UK’s greatest training facilities.
