Access Masters winner spends a day at the SBE

The School of Business and Economics had the pleasure recently of hosting a private tour for the winner of the 2018 Access Masters Fall Tour, Athanasia Theodorou.

The School promotes its programmes every year at Access Masters events worldwide and twice a year, the Access Masters Tour awards one lucky winner who has participated in a one-to-one event with a free campus visit to any university of their choosing.

Athanasia participated in the Athens One-to-One event where she had the opportunity to speak to various leading universities and business schools around the world.

As the winner of the Access Masters Campus Visit, she chose Loughborough University's School of Business and Economics as her first choice, appreciating the triple-accreditation held (AACBS, EQUIS and AMBA), and feeling like Loughborough was the place for her after speaking to the programme admin team.

During the private tour, Athanasia was able to see the Loughborough campus, as well as view the outstanding facilities and services on offer, from Pilkington Library to the state-of-the-art sports centres.

Athanasia commented: “The campus stood out with its beauty and greenery. I like that everything can be found on campus and you don’t have to go anywhere else.”

Athanasia had spoken to Brian Searle, the programme director of MSc Marketing, and Dr Elena Georgiadou, a lecturer on the MSc International Business programme, to understand what each programme entails to make the decision of which route to follow. This was crucial in her deciding to pursue the MSc Marketing programme at Loughborough.

At the end of the day, when asked for a comment on the private tour, Athanasia said: “Coming to visit Loughborough University was a great opportunity and experience for me.”
