Tennis Coaching
Our Loughborough University Affiliated Tennis Coaches provide an independent service from Loughborough Sport to offer individual, one-to-one lessons and coaching.
All coaching sessions are tailored specifically for the player, providing specialist support to identify strengths and areas for improvement to achieve on-court success.
From complete beginner to regular players, our affiliated tennis coaches are available to all levels of ability and can help you develop your game of tennis.
If you would like to receive individual tennis coaching, please enquire below using the Enquiry Form and your details will be passed to our affiliated tennis coaches to contact you directly to arrange your first coaching session.
All sessions will take place within the Tennis and Squash Centre at Loughborough University, and scheduled at a time that suits you.
Fee: From £30 per 1-hour Tennis session (including court bookings), payable directly to the coach
Equipment: Rackets and balls can be provided

David Boddy
Level 5 Coach, LTA Tutor, and National Assessor
Tennis Coordinator
David has over 35 years of coaching experience, working with beginners through to performance level. He has helped players develop from beginners to become county and regional-level junior players and is currently working with a national wheelchair competitor.

Lottie Howard
Assistant Tennis Coach
Lottie is currently working towards her Level 4 Senior Performance Coach qualification. She has captained Hampshire county teams, assisted on National camps, and travelled on GB tournament trips. Lottie won several National events and competed internationally on the ITF tour. Lottie implements her previous player knowledge and current coaching philosophies into the Loughborough university programme, whilst continuing to learn and grow from the players and coaches around her.

Annie Watson
Accredited Level 3 Tennis Coach
Hailing from Cornwall, Annie has played since age 5 and played hundreds of matches, becoming the youngest in the county to represent the under 18 team. She has multiple county titles within a range of age groups leading to national finals at the prestigious Edgbaston and Wimbledon clubs, driving her to compete nationally and internationally. She has experience at coaching all ages from age 4 through to performance adults.

Mike Shaw
Accredited Level 3 Tennis Coach
Mike is an LTA-accredited Level 3 Tennis Coach with 8 years of coaching experience. A 7-year member of Loughborough University’s Men’s 1st Team, contributing to BUCS National League, Cup, Singles, and Doubles titles. Competed on the ITF World Tennis Tour for 10 years, achieving career-high ATP World Rankings of 1143 in Singles and 504 in Doubles. Currently undertaking a PhD on the biomechanics of the tennis serve.
