Swimming

Loughborough Swimming is the leading senior programme in the UK, catering to a wide range of abilities, from Olympians and World Championship medallists to club-level swimmers. Our programme offers an unrivalled blend of elite performance and inclusive, community-driven swimming for all.

The Loughborough Students’ Swimming Club welcomes everyone, whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a newcomer to the pool. With flexible membership options, swimmers can pursue high-performance goals, focus on skill development, or simply enjoy the sport in a supportive and friendly environment.

For competitive swimmers, the club boasts a proud tradition of success, fielding dominant teams in BUCS events, where we consistently uphold our reputation as champions. Our athletes thrive in high-pressure, competition-focused moments, with opportunities to compete at national and international levels. The club also offers regular training sessions led by expert coaches, designed to enhance technique, build endurance, and foster confidence in the water.

Para-swimming is fully integrated within the Loughborough environment, offering tailored support depending on classification and performance level, ensuring all athletes can train and compete effectively.

Whether your goal is to chase podiums, represent Loughborough, or enjoy a refreshing swim with friends, the Swimming Club provides the coaching, facilities, and community to help you succeed.

The newest AU swim squad at Loughborough University offers a senior training environment for student athletes of all levels. It provides a pathway to High-Performance squads, a chance to train and compete with fewer commitments, or simply a programme for fitness without competition.

Seven pool sessions are available each week, with a minimum attendance of two. A coach with high-performance experience leads training, and athletes may compete for Loughborough Swimming in events such as the British University Swimming League and BUCS (subject to the Loughborough Sport Code of Conduct).
