Performance Women's Cricket

At Loughborough University, aspiring cricketers have the rare opportunity to train at the ECB’s National Cricket Performance Centre, the very same facility used by England’s elite.

Our women’s cricket programme is home to two competitive teams (Performance and 1st XI) and a non-competitive development squad (2nd XI), offering pathways for athletes at every level.

Our competitive squads represent Loughborough in both indoor and outdoor BUCS competitions, with the Women’s 1st XI proudly securing the BUCS Championship title for the past 3 years, back-to-back. Beyond the pitch, we prioritise academic-athletic balance—supporting students with tailored flexibility during demanding periods and fostering professional player behaviours.

From top-tier coaching to fixtures against regional academies, Loughborough Women’s Cricket offers a high-performance environment where students thrive as athletes and individuals.

Being part of the women’s cricket team is like being part of a big family. Everyone looks out for each other and makes anyone new to the group feel welcome and included. Everyone in the team realises there is more to life than cricket, so whilst most of our time is spent together training or playing, we all make time to get to know each other outside of cricket, bringing us closer as a team. Everyone has their own individual aspirations as a cricketer, but everyone wants to help each other reach those goals.
