Cricket at Loughborough welcomes everyone, from seasoned athletes to complete beginners, offering the chance to enjoy and develop in this classic sport.

Men’s Cricket at Loughborough offers an inclusive and dynamic environment for students of all abilities, whether you’re a performance athlete aiming to progress to County Cricket or a beginner looking to enjoy the game socially.  

The Loughborough Students’ Cricket Club currently has over 200 members and provides opportunities to train, play, and develop in a supportive environment.  

At the high-performance level, students benefit from expert coaching, dedicated training sessions, and access to the National Cricket Performance Centre, ensuring they have the best possible resources to reach their potential.  

The club competes in BUCS leagues, County age group competitions, and friendly fixtures, while also offering recreational sessions for those new to the sport.

Performance

Loughborough is the ideal University for aspiring professional cricketers, offering world-class facilities, expert coaching, and a performance-focused environment.

Through Loughborough MCCU and the Cricket Academy, students receive specialist support in Sports Science, Technical Analysis, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Medicine, and Mental Skills. The programme also offers an International Placement option, allowing students to play abroad while gaining valuable work experience.

Our competitive schedule includes three matches against First Class Counties (two as 1st Class Fixtures), five two-day MCCU matches, and seven BUCS fixtures, providing a full calendar to develop skills and compete at the highest student level.

Athletic Union (AU)

Loughborough Students’ Cricket Club is one of the largest and most inclusive clubs, with over 200 members and opportunities for all levels of cricketers, from beginners to those just below County Cricket standard.  

The club fields four men’s teams competing across BUCS, County age-group competitions, and friendly matches throughout the season.  

While teams are selected on merit, all members have access to top-quality coaching and training facilities, including the National Cricket Performance Centre.
