Cheerleading

Loughborough Cheerleading Club blends athleticism, teamwork, and school spirit, delivering high-energy performances and competitive excellence.

Cheerleading at Loughborough is a dynamic and inclusive community that welcomes students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced athletes.

As a club, we are proud to be the reigning National Champions and Grand Champions, and in 2018 we were honoured with the title of 'Club of the Year'.

The club is made up of two competitive squads, which regularly compete at national and international competitions, alongside a development team designed for those just starting out in the sport. Our athletes train hard, develop their skills, and build confidence while fostering teamwork and resilience.

Beyond competitions, the club offers a supportive and sociable environment, where members can make lasting friendships, improve their athleticism, and enjoy the excitement and energy of cheerleading at all levels.

Ways you can get involved

A group of cheerleaders, dressed in purple and pink uniforms, perform on a sports field at night. Several cheerleaders are visible from the torso up, some holding purple and pink pom-poms high in the air.

Athletic Union (AU)

Loughborough Students' Cheerleading Club offers a structured and competitive environment with two main squads at Level 2 and Level 3, including an all-female Level 3 team that competes against both All-Star and university teams, alongside an additional development squad for beginners.

Our setup ensures that students of all abilities can join the club, improving both their athleticism and cheerleading skills while becoming part of a supportive community.

Beyond multiple national competitions, the club performs at events such as ‘D-Day’ matches and supports other Loughborough Athletic Union clubs.

Members are expected to fully commit, reflecting the club’s focus on excellence, with most squads competing in two national competitions each year.
