Athletic Union (AU)
Our 64 AU clubs offer you the chance to represent Loughborough University in competitive sports. With regular training sessions and weekly matches, these clubs are great for those looking to join a passionate, committed sporting community.
Information about trials and taster sessions will be published in early September, with sessions taking place throughout September and October.
To join a club, you'll need a Loughborough Sport Membership.
Hall Sport
Hall Sport (IntraMural Sport or IMS) is an opportunity to represent one of the University’s 16 halls on campus in a range of sports leagues and events.
It's perfect for those who love competing without the commitment or costs of intense training or travel.
To join an IMS League, contact your hall's Sport Secretary when you arrive. To stay up to date, follow your hall on social media.
Social Leagues
Social Leagues are weekly leagues where you can play with friends or join a team through your department or society.
It's ideal if you want to play with friends, meet new people and enjoy a commitment-free sport experience.
Social League sign-ups open on Monday 28 September. Students can sign up through the Lboro Sport app by selecting Book > Students > Social Leagues.
Recreational Sport
Recreational Sport is for students of all abilities. It's a free, supportive weekly timetable where no experience is needed.
It's a great way to try something new in an inclusive, welcoming environment where activators can support and guide you.
The reduced semester timetable begins on 28 September, with the full timetable launching on 5 October.
Sessions can be booked up to 7 days in advance through the Lboro Sport app by selecting Book > Students > Recreational Sport.
Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA)
The CVA offers sports volunteering and leadership opportunities to students. We provide roles in various areas to help enhance skills and personal development.
To get involved in volunteering opportunities in the CVA, you'll need to create an account on the online portal.
Attend a CVA briefing during Freshers to discover how you can get involved in coaching, officiating and volunteering in sport throughout your time at Loughborough.
