Hosted by International Student Experience, International Hangouts take place twice a month, with around one session per month being an arts and crafts session supported by LU Arts.
Attending a session is the perfect way for international students to meet other students and take a break from university life. You can get creative while you chat and make something to take home – or send home.
There are three International Hangouts and LU Arts collaborations in the Autumn Term:
4 November – Diwali Arts and Crafts session
Celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, by making your own colourful Diwali Suncatcher inspired by rangoli patterns. Hang your new suncatcher in your window or give it to a friend as a unique present.
17 November – Sip and Paint
Unwind with an afternoon of painting and conversation in the Loughborough Students' Union (LSU) Collaboration Station. Drop in between 4pm and 6pm to get creative and take a break from your studies. This session is in collaboration with International Students Network and is part of International Students Week. Booking will be available closer to the event.
2 December – Festive Christmas Card Making
Get into the festive spirit and spread a little Christmas cheer by joining the International Student Experience team for a creative afternoon of Christmas card making. Design your own festive cards to send to friends and family back home while connecting with others and giving something back to the local community this festive season.
Materials will be provided at all sessions, and no crafting skills are necessary. Just book your place and come along.
