Develop your skills and make an impact: Become part of the University’s Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA)

The University’s Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA) is a fantastic opportunity open to students, staff and the local community which provides sport-based coaching, volunteering and leadership opportunities that enhance personal and professional development that can create a stepping stone into a career within the sports industry.

There is a wide range of opportunities available, which are all designed to enhance your employability for a successful career in the sports industry.  

The different strands include: 

  • Coaching 
  • Officiating  
  • Event Management 
  • Media, Marketing and Communications 
  • Performance Support 
  • Sport Management & Leadership 
  • International Sport Development (Volunteer Zambia) 

The CVA is planning to launch future schemes, including a Women in Sport Mentoring Programme.

To get involved with the Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA) you need to create an account on the volunteer management system, the CVA Portal. This applies to both student volunteers and community volunteers as this is the online tool used to advertise opportunities, and volunteers will use this to apply for any opportunities they’re interested in.
