The focus for this category was around regional partnerships, incorporating how the Careers Network proactively and successfully engage and collaborate with local businesses, enabling our students to develop crucial employability skills valued by employers which set them on a positive career path.
Susan Boon, International Work and Opportunities Coordinator at Loughborough University said: “This was a sought-after category with numerous submissions from across the region so to gain recognition and win this is testimony to the initiatives and passion that everyone in Careers Network put in day after day to always strive to make a positive impact for our students.”
As part of the Careers Network’s submission, they highlighted the work they do across three specific areas of the team:
- Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN) activity, in unison with the Research and Innovation Office, which focuses on how the ecosystem develops businesses and works with and supports them, as well as students, at each stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
- Talent Match opportunities and the growth of the schemes within this programme of internship activity working to match our Loughborough student and graduate talent with businesses (SMEs), including start-ups via LEN.
- Employer events programme of activity that includes the flagship Autumn and Spring Careers Fairs which attract over 160-70 employers and 5,000+ students (Autumn fair alone) and positively engages with a good number of regional SMEs who attend regularly.
