Ethics applications and the Research Repository

The Librarians managing the Research Repository have been focusing on how to better support the ethics process.

Researchers might have noticed a few changes that have been put into place to better link LEON, the online ethics application system, and the Research Repository. These changes include:

  • Adding a field for the ethics number in the Research Repository

  • Linking LEON to the online system for data management plans, DMPOnline

In support of Open Research, a movement which seeks to increase the transparency and the perceived reliability of research, the Research Repository can be used to share various documents that have been created for the ethical application process. Examples are generic protocols, questionnaire flow diagrams and survey instruments.

By making these kinds of documents available, future researchers can be more confident in reusing data generated through the research process. Should you wish to share such files, upload them directly to the Research Repository (publication outputs should be submitted via LUPIN).
