Be part of the Tokyo 2020 journey with ParalympicsGB!

Loughborough University is delighted to announce that we will be working with ParalympicsGB to provide volunteers for the Tokyo 2020 Kitting Out event.

In this once in a lifetime opportunity, University staff are invited to apply to support the Paralympic delegation to receive their Adidas and ASOS kit ahead of traveling out to Tokyo for the Paralympic Games.

As part of the experience, ParalympicsGB athletes and staff attending the kitting out process will be assigned a personal shopper, and this is where we need your help!

As a personal shopper, you will support an individual through the process, providing them with different sizes to try on and ensuring their correct sizes are inputted on their sizing sheet.

Kitting out will take place at Holywell Fitness Centre from 27th May – 12th June (weekdays only) between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00, where over 650 members of the ParalympicsGB delegation will be on campus as part of their pre-game’s preparation.

In line with the University’s policy to offer staff one working day each to undertake approved volunteer work, it has been agreed - with line manager approval - that two volunteer days can be taken for this prestigious opportunity.

Staff wishing to get involved must commit to a minimum of two days and can express their interest by visiting the University’s Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA) Portal. Staff will need to set up a profile as a ‘Community Volunteer’ on the Portal to access this opportunity. If you have any questions about the recruitment process for this opportunity then check out our dedicated web page HERE or contact Matt Leonard (Sports Volunteering Officer) m.leonard@lboro.ac.uk.
