Joseph Joseph founder opens Loughborough Enterprise Network in London

Alumnus Richard Joseph launched the new Loughborough University Enterprise Network (LEN) at the London campus last Tuesday (12 February).

The launch night saw alumni, staff and students come together to celebrate business and enterprise.

Richard, who graduated in 1998 with a degree in Industrial Design and Technology, shared his enterprising journey with guests. He talked about his time at Loughborough, setting up a successful business and he discussed his involvement with enterprise at the University. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions about his experiences in business.

The alumnus founded the houseware brand Joseph Joseph alongside his twin brother. Since launching the business, the twins have strived to create products to solve everyday household problems. They have done so with great success and were recently recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

Guests also had the opportunity to network and to meet with enterprising students and graduates who hosted stalls to showcase their businesses. They also heard from Pro-Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, Professor Tracy Bhamra, and Head of Enterprise Network and Employer Engagement, Charlie Wheeldon, who both spoke of their delight to be opening the new space in London.

Part of the wider Loughborough Enterprise Network, the London space will enable students to access the University’s enterprise offering which includes business support and opportunities to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
