Joseph Joseph wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation

Alumnus Richard Joseph recently welcomed a visit from Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal to the Joseph Joseph offices in London.

The houseware brand Joseph Joseph, founded by alumnus Richard and his twin brother, has been recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. The Princess Royal visited the team on 11 September 2018 to deliver the prestigious award.

Since founding the company, the twins have strived to create products to solve everyday household problems, and have done so with great success. The houseware brand is now internationally renowned, and with two Queen’s Awards to their name.

Their latest Queen’s Award is for the Totem Waste Separation & Recycling Units, which are a range of multi-compartment kitchen bins. The products encourage users to separate and recycle waste in the home, without the need for multiple bins.

The Princess Royal presented the award and unveiled a commemorative plaque. Her Royal Highness took a tour of the showroom displays and found out more about the development of the Totem during her visit.

Richard graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Industrial Design and Technology in 1998.

Congratulations to Richard and the Joseph Joseph team on their award.
