Men's Hockey at Loughborough offers opportunities to compete in the England Hockey League North Conference (outdoor) and Premier Division (indoor) as well as the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Premier League. We also offer a number of recreational options so you can enjoy playing at a less competitive level.
Our performance team is supported by many full-time and part-time coaches as well as strength and conditioning coaches, lifestyle support coaches, and we have scholarships available for our top players.
The performance squad (first team) currently competes in the England Hockey National League North Conference, England Hockey National Division 1 for indoor hockey and the BUCS Hockey Premier North A league. Competing in these leagues allows us to play against some of the best teams in the country.
The men’s head coach is former student and player Jerome Goudie and supporting him is Men’s Assistant Coach Alex Bailey.
Athletic Union Club
Loughborough Students Men’s Hockey Club is the most successful student club in the country, competing in the National Premier League. Our club has a great reputation for producing many international players, but we cater for all abilities across our different squads.
Hall Sport (IMS)
We encourage you to compete in hockey for your halls of residence in IMS competitions held throughout the year. You compete in teams against other halls, and these competitions are always great fun.
Hockey is also available through the My Lifestyle initiative, where you can give the sport a go and have loads of fun at the same time.
Coaching and volunteering
Within most sports there are a range of sports volunteering roles and opportunities for you to get involved and gain experience in. This ranges from coaching and officiating to events, marketing and media and sport science support.
