Loughborough University is one of the leading higher education institutions for golf in the UK, offering a comprehensive programme that caters to players of all abilities.

Our squad of 30 mixed-gender golfers ranges from scratch handicaps to mid-single figures, ensuring a supportive and challenging environment for everyone.

The programme is designed to develop players to the highest standard, combining expert coaching, access to excellent practice facilities, and opportunities to compete in prestigious tournaments.

Whether you are a recreational golfer seeking improvement or an ambitious athlete aiming to compete nationally, Loughborough University’s golf programme provides the resources, guidance, and competitive exposure to help you reach your full potential.

Athletic Union (AU)

Loughborough Students’ Golf Club works closely with Charnwood Golf & Leisure Complex to provide practice facilities and coaching sessions for all players.  

Top-performing athletes can apply for mini-scholarships, granting access to the prestigious Longcliffe Golf Club.

The club fields five teams, including three competitive squads and one recreational team, competing weekly in BUCS leagues and knockout competitions across divisions ranging from Midlands 2A up to the Premier Division South.

Additionally, players participate in BUCS stroke play events and student tour tournaments, gaining experience at some of the UK’s finest golf courses.

Training sessions are held up to three times per week, offering a balanced combination of skill development, fitness, and competitive play.
