Equestrian

Equestrian at Loughborough caters for all levels, from people who have never sat on a horse to people who have ridden for years.

Equestrian at Loughborough is a welcoming and versatile club for anyone with an interest in horses - whether you’ve never sat in the saddle before or have years of riding experience.

If you love animals, enjoy staying active, and want to challenge yourself in a unique and rewarding way, this is the club for you.

Our members take part in everything from relaxed hacks through the countryside to high-level competitions in showjumping and dressage.

With all horses provided by Long Lane Equestrian Centre, there’s no need to have your own, just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! Alongside riding, the club offers a warm community, varied social events, and opportunities to explore new equestrian disciplines.

Athletic Union (AU)

Loughborough Students Equestrian is divided into three sections:

Teams – Riders represent Loughborough in showjumping and dressage at varying levels in BUCS Regional Leagues, Championship Finals, and a friendly league against local universities.

Development – For riders aiming to join the teams in the future, with weekly training sessions leading to end-of-semester inter-club competitions.

Recreational – Open to all abilities, from beginners to advanced riders, with fun weekly sessions, seasonal activities, hacks, beach rides, and specialised clinics.

The club also runs monthly ‘give it a go’ sessions, giving members the chance to try disciplines such as horseball, cross-country, and more.
