Canoeing
Experience the thrill of canoeing and kayaking at Loughborough, where beginners and performance athletes alike can ride, race, and explore on the water.
Canoeing and kayaking at Loughborough offer an exciting and inclusive environment for everyone, from adrenaline seekers and performance athletes to complete beginners.
As one of Britain’s fastest-growing sports, canoeing provides a range of disciplines. Our sessions are designed to cater to all experience levels, whether you’ve never stepped in a boat before or are a seasoned paddler looking to refine your technique.
Alongside regular pool training, members can experience the thrill of the white-water course in a safe, supportive, and fully coached environment.
This combination of on-campus and off-site training ensures a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience.
Ways you can get involved

Athletic Union (AU)
The Loughborough Canoe Athletic Union Club provides a dynamic and supportive environment for students to develop their skills on and off the water.
Members benefit from enhanced performance support, including strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, nutrition guidance, expert coaching, and funding for club equipment.
Throughout the year, members can take part in both competitive and social events, including river races, slalom, sprint, canoe polo, and white-water rafting, as well as enjoy fun trips around the country, making it a truly engaging and inclusive community.
