Join Dr Fred Amonya for a compelling online lecture that reframes Net Zero through the lens of complexity science. Drawing on mathematics, policy, and systems thinking, the session explores Britain’s evolving energy landscape and its narrow but real window of agency in a turbulent global order.

Dr Amonya is an internationally recognised scholar of complexity science and public investment, with over two decades of experience advising governments and global institutions. His work connects infrastructure, governance, and mathematical insight - offering a unique perspective on how Net Zero can be understood as a civilisational shift rather than a technical fix. As former Chair of Transport Systems Economics at PIARC (2016–19), he led a global inquiry into investment as a dynamical system, spanning 122 countries. His current research builds frameworks such as Layered Operator Appraisal and Four Worlds, connecting mathematics, governance, and Africa’s development futures.
