International Men’s Day Wellbeing Walk
Come along to celebrate International Men’s Day with a wellbeing walk across campus.
International Men's Day celebrates the positive impact men have on their families, communities, and the wider world. The day also falls within Movember, which is a month-long event raising awareness for issues relating to men's health.
To mark the day, EDI Services are holding a Men’s Wellbeing Walk for staff and students who identify as men to connect with each other and talk about issues that matter to them. Led by experienced facilitator, Steve Widdowson, attendees will be invited to share and listen amongst peers, but there is no requirement to engage in the talk element if you do not wish to; your presence is just as valuable. The walk is peer-led and is not a substitute for professional mental health support.
Refreshments: Hot drinks and biscuits will be available in the Chaplaincy. Please bring a travel mug with a lid if you’d like to take a drink on the walk.
Attire: Please wear clothes and footwear suitable for winter weather. If the weather is severe, attendees will be welcome to talk and connect in the Chaplaincy.
If you are unable to attend, please visit Occupational Health for more information on mental and physical well-being. You can also find out more about our Employee Assistance Programme.
