Following a successful Festival of Creative and Digital Methods conference on 21 January 2026, the Enhanced Academic Practice (EAP) team and School of Social Science and Humanities (SSH) would like to invite colleagues to join their Online Interactive Taster Series. Hear from a range of academic experts from EAP and SSH to enhance your knowledge of innovative research methods.

In this online workshop, Elizabeth Lovely (SDCA) invites colleagues to sit together within the idea of a circular configuration, therefore dispensing with a fixed hierarchical structure. Prompted by an open format provocation centred on a key theme, each person is given the opportunity to speak from a place of felt understanding (as laid out by Gendlin) without interruption. It provides the opportunity to cultivate a sense of presence to witnessing without judgement in a confidential and unrecorded space. In this way, each person is able to take ownership of their contribution without feeling their voice is powerless, with each contribution itself classed as a valued aspect to the knowledge gathering as a whole.
