This practical and engaging workshop introduces early-career researchers to the basics of Intellectual Property (IP). Participants will explore key types of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) - including copyright, patents, trademarks, and design rights - with a focus on their relevance to academic research.

Through real-world examples and interactive activities, the session will help researchers recognise when IP is created, understand how to protect it, and consider ownership, collaboration, and commercialisation issues. The workshop is suitable for researchers from all disciplines who are new to IP or seeking a refresher.

The event is hosted by C-DICE, the Centre for Postdoctoral Development in Infrastructure, Cities and Energy and is suitable for all researchers with a net zero focus. To find out more, including how to register for free, please visit the C-DICE website.
