Recruiting Run Leaders for RunTogether x Loughborough
8 July
- For Staff and Students
- Volunteering
We are looking for staff and student volunteers to take up a 'Run Leader' role, leading our recreational running sessions and Rec Sport Run Club! Run Leaders will receive a fully funded England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness qualification.
This year we have been successful in an application to run a project with BUCS called the RunTogether programme.
As part of this, we are looking for staff and student volunteers to take up a 'Run Leader' role, leading our recreational running sessions and Rec Sport Run Club, which will form part of our Recreational Sport programme in 2026/2027. As part of the programme, we are expecting to deliver a minimum of three run sessions a week, geared at different ability groups/paces, open to staff and students to book onto.
Those who take on this role will receive a fully funded Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification, with the training being delivered by England Athletics. The course is a hybrid blend of online learning and an in-person practical session taking place on Saturday 26 September, 1pm-4pm, which you must be available for.
Run Leaders will be expected to run one weekly run session (there can be some flexibility if agreed with the Recreational Sport Team) primarily during term time but with the potential for off term time delivery. There is flexibility for when during the week and day these run sessions take place, as we are hoping to reach a large range of audiences, including both students and staff.
You do not need to be an experienced runner to take on this role, as you can deliver run group sessions at a pace you are comfortable with.
To express your interest in this opportunity, please contact Orion Chan (Participation Graduate Officer) via email at m.chan2@lboro.ac.uk by 23 July 2026.
