Participants Needed: Sensory Experiences and Integration Study
21 May
- For Staff and Students
- Research participant call-outs
We are looking for participants to join a new research study to help us explore whether sensory experiences that you may or may not have had in your day-to-day life may relate to how you experience different sensory activities in the study.
Volunteers are invited to help us explore the factors that may be related to sensory experiences that some people have in their everyday lives. Participants do not need to have had unusual sensory experiences to take part.
What are the possible benefits of participating?
- Many people find activities involved in this study enjoyable, and you may learn a new demonstration to share with others or learn more about body perception.
- You will also receive a £15 Amazon voucher as a thank you for your time.
Who can take part?
Participants must be:
- 18+ years old
- Currently living in the UK
Participants must NOT have:
- Diagnosed or known neurological damage or conditions (this could include traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumours that required hospitalisation, or epilepsy, severe and recurrent migraines, or seizures that require medication)
- Diagnosed or known peripheral nerve damage
- Vision difficulties (effective glasses and contact lenses are fine)
- Loss of upper limbs
What is involved?
Participation involves one in-person session in the Matthew Arnold building on campus.
In this session, you will get to try a selection of sensory/perceptual experiences and sensory judgement activities.
You will also be asked to complete some questionnaires that ask about your experiences, behaviours, and beliefs in different contexts.
This session will take no longer than 90 minutes.
If you have any questions or would like to take part in this study, please contact a.jennis-boyle@lboro.ac.uk.
