Our fantastic panellists will speak to the title Spotlight on Gen Z Learners: Exploring the challenges and opportunities for higher education today.

Are we witnessing the emergence of a new generation of students with distinct needs that challenge traditional teaching methods, or is it broader societal pressures such as the escalating cost-of-living crisis and the enduring impacts of the pandemic that are reshaping students' perceptions of the value of a university degree?

This session will explore whether existing pedagogical approaches remain effective when engaging digital natives amidst a backdrop of social and political change, environmental crises, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. This Spotlight panel event aims to critically assess how our educational strategies are responding to this evolving landscape and generation of students.

The event provides an opportunity to hear from current students, alongside colleagues Marcus Collins, Emma Dodd and Ridzuan A-Rasid. Each speaker will offer their take on the theme before opening to the floor for questions and discussion.
