Let’s Talk Loughborough: What is the University doing about sustainability?

Did you know that one of the new buildings on campus is built on stilts to combat flooding?

Find out about this and other ways the University is adapting to the effects of climate change in the latest episode of Let’s Talk Loughborough.

Elliott and Jenny from the University’s Sustainability Team and Polly, the Chair of Loughborough Greens join the podcast to discuss how sustainable the University is, and what we can do as individuals to get more involved.

On why raising awareness is important Elliott commented: “As a university, I think it is really important that we are educating not only our students but our staff as well about sustainability. If you think about the impact of educating those 20,000 people and making them more literate in carbon, more literate in environmental awareness – the impact of that when they go out into the wider world is huge.”

Polly highlighted some of the options for students looking to make more sustainable choices including the Eco Replenishers shop and their upcoming campaign focusing on reducing the amount of fast fashion that is consumed.
